The Au Naturél haircare product range is good for all hair types especially for people with textured hair types. In the five years of our product formulation process, we've paid particular attention to giving the right pH balance to all of our products. It is very important that the pH of hair be normalised or returned to its 4 to 5.5 pH range after product use. That is why we've taken great care to ensure that our product range are properly balanced and contributes to restoring and maintaining the hair's natural acid mantle or healthy state in order to stay soft.

Many of us through the years have been conditioned to love and even expect the wonderful lather and bubbles that come from our cleansing products such as shampoos, detergents, shower gels etc. However, when it comes to hair, this bubbly “goodness” can actually be quite damaging to your hair. This is because the main ingredients which produces those bubbly “goodness” are sulfates like (sodium laureth, sodium lauryl, ammonium laureth) which are powerful degreasers and cleansing agents that are extremely drying to hair. When used on things like grimy ovens, sulfates can work wonders. But when used on hair, they can literally strip all oils, including sebum which can lead to hair that is drier and more prone to breakage. With this in mind, we’ve not included any of those nasty ingredients in our formulation but provided a product that works and will leave your hair feeling clean and light but without stripping its natural goodness. The products would work but up to a point because when our bodies are under stress for example, from nutritional deficiencies, thyroid conditions, illness, medications and hormonal shifts or simply from day-to-day life, energy is redirected from growing hair to reinforcing more critical bodily processes. Hair follicles are very sensitive to these shifts in attention and are programmed to respond by slowing down growth rates, producing thinner, less vibrantly fibres and shedding hair altogether. Always remember, healthy hair starts from the inside not from the outside. So feed it, hydrate it, de-stress it, exercise it and rest it.

These five areas are critical not only for hair health but for overall health. Healthy hair grows from healthy bodies. Your hair is not separate from your body, it is part of a unified system called the human body. Systems of the human body are interdependent meaning that what you do in one area affects another. Textured hair, out of all the races on the planet, is the most fragile hair there is. It is generally thinner than most hair, drier than most hair and more prone to breakage than most hair due to its very nature and texture. Therefore to maintain a healthy head of hair, people with textured hair must pay particular attention to these five areas in addition to using our system.

Great care must be taken when mixing products from different manufacturers. This not only applies to the Au Naturél hair care system but to all hair care products out there. Our advice is that you should shy away from using different brands for your hair as we've found that it increases the risk of heavy product build-up, hair damage and even ill health. Exposure to too many agents and chemicals as result of the way other brands formulate their products can increase the potential for damage to your hair and your health.
